Another day in the life of 802.11

Well this is kinda funny really.  Paul decided that he wanted to stop all the harmless little birdies from crapping all over his roof.  You see the birdies would perch on this very convenient antenna, and naturally crap all over his roof?  I can't see why all the fuss really - it doesn't affect me ;)

Ok, so the general idea was, Paul gets us over to his place for Beer and BBQ.  We eat lots of food and drink lots of beer.  What comes next?  Well everyone in a drunken stupor :) climbs on the roof and we proceed to take the mast and antenna down and make it it birdy proof.  I know this sounds harsh, but in hind-sight, it was a lot of fun.

Me holding the ladder, Paul on top of the ladder.  As you can see there is no tension on any of the guide wires as the mast is down

...there are a lot of jokes being told here about letting the ladder go.

Paul's response F&#*$&% - looses something in the translation.  Notice all the cable ties to make the antenna birdy proof

Ok - All the cable ties are in place and the mast is back up, checking the tension on all the guide wires and...

Spending half a day to bird-proof an antenna and have a butcher bird land, 30 seconds later - Priceless...

oh well, a valuable lesson learned.....
